Special day...
Special place...
Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage!
Churches are special places and we would love to help you explore getting married in church.
Thanks to a change in the law, it is now easier to get married in a particular church. Lots of people want to get married here because it is their local church, but we also recognise that, for some, it has special significance through family or other connections. Either way, please feel that you can get in touch to discuss getting married here.
The following information may be helpful:
You can marry here at St Lawrence’s, or one of the other churches in the Benefice, if either of you can demonstrate just one of the seven connections with the parish listed below.
That one of you:
•has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
•was baptised in the parish concerned or
•was prepared for confirmation in the parish or
•has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or
That one of your parents, at any time after you were born:
•has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
•has regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or
That one of your parents or grandparents:
•was married in the parish
